There are many options to choose from. I suggest you start by figuring out what is most important to you. What are your non-negotiables? Is working from home a big factor for you? Or do you want to have a large creative influence?

Take the time to understand what your priorities are based on your personality. Being an introvert is only one of the traits a person can have. There are other traits such as thinking versus feeling. Each trait affects what type of work will bring you more satisfaction.

I suggest you also consider doing a personality test to dig deeper. My favourite one is called 16 Personalities. I have done it multiple times in the last 5 years. I found it helpful in discovering what I want my career to look like.

How to Job Hunt

Like it or not, you are a product in the labour market.

  1. This means that you need to be good at what you do. I like to measure my skills every year by listing my accomplishments. I am not referring to winning medals. I mean things like the number of unique ideas you’ve come up with in the last 6 months. Or the feedback you’ve received from your clients. Get clear on the value you hold as a potential employee.
  2. Tailor your portfolio and resume to show your creativity and competence. Find out what tools are commonly used in your chosen profession. Learn them and list them on your resume. Work backwards by checking what the employers want.
  3. Time to start applying. It’s a numbers game. Be strategic. Use a tool like Career Hound to find hidden job listings not found on LinkedIn and Indeed where everyone is applying. Schedule to apply for a specific number of jobs every day.

Rehearse Time

You must prepare for your interviews the same way actors prepare for their performances. This means practicing. Do what the majority is too lazy to do. Research the most commonly asked questions and answers and then practise. You can practise with a friend or find AI tools online designed for conversational practice.

Quality Effort + Feedback + Time = Results

Stay patient and best of luck.
